What is your question?
Hello, I have a nissan altima with codes p0725, p0826 & p0101 showing up on a scanner. p0725 and p0826 are my main concerns. I had issues with a p0101 code in Summer 2023 that costed me an outrageous amount. I feel like since I have a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5L S 4cyl engine, I can safely say that the mass airflow needs a clean. I was told by my mechanic that the entire CVT Transmission needs to be fixed. However, when I look online for *similar* cases, fixing the transmission was a last ditch effort. What can I do to fix the first two codes? Right now, my car doesn't go past 1000 RPM, stalls, and make a whirring noise during idle and drive. I recently replaced my engine gasket valve cover, serpentine belt, brakes, mass air flow (fall 2023), air filter, engine oil, and power steering pump. Note: my mechanic said my car is leaking PS fluid somewhere in the hose but he does not know where from. Why would there not be a code for this? All genuine and knowledgeable help is appreciated.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse when car is driven

Hi! This is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! Ok, there's a lot here to get to, so let's start! The code P0725 (ENGINE SPEED) could be failing/faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensors. The P0826 (UP AND DOWN SHIFT SW) could be the CVT transmission giving up the ghost. But your mechanic should confirm his diagnosis or, you can get a second opinion. The P0101 is a code for the mass air flow sensor and a failed MAF sensor can certainly make the Altima run poorly. As far as the power steering leak, there wouldn't be a code present since the power steering isn't monitored. The check engine light is triggered when the Altima's emissions control systems detect the vehicle isn't running within the federally mandated emissions standards. Power steering doesn't fall into that category. Getting the leak figured out is a good idea though as it can put extra strain on the pump and steering rack.
