Push start Nissan 2009, sometimes fails. Possibilities?

Sometimes the push start doesn't work. It seems to occur more when it's rainy or damp weather.
I can hear it trying to start when it goes to "ON"
Sometimes, it takes 2 or 3 tries, a few times I tried 20 or more times, and eventually it starts. A couple times, it doesn't start, I give up, then hours later it starts no problem.
I feel it's related to the electronics? Or could it be the starter or alternator? Please advise. Thank you!
