Hi, last time I was driving on the highway, I hit 80 mph and suddenly the gas pedal didn't respond. I pressed my foot to the floor and nothing, I only continued moving through inertia it seemed. The tachometer stayed on 2 no matter how hard I pressed the pedal. It only started working again when I braked to 20mph in a residential area and the tachometer went back to 5. My gas tank was full and the engine stayed cool.
I looked up to see what was wrong but got a bunch of different answers. It could be air flow problem, I might need to replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, unplugging the gas pedel etc. I know very little about cars, so any advice to help me with this would be great. I have a 2009 Nissan Altima with 114000 miles. thanks.
