Will a bad starter cause your car to go dark on dash & stall. Won't restart aftr

What is your question?

It will start and run normal for 10mins then goes dark on dash and no power but I can Reeve it and dash lights up

What makes this problem better or worse?

Better when I Reeve engine lights of abs and other lights come on but if I Reeve it's better but if stalls won't start and dash is black. Jumping it can start but if too much I see some smoke under engine and smell slight burning
