What is your question?
Its currently 19 degrees Fahrenheit. When I try to turn my car on the lights work but the engine won't start. The car doesn't make any strange sounds and I need to leave within the next few hours. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the battery. What can I do to make it start?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Cold
How long has your 2008 Nissan Altima had this problem?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The cold weather is challenging to us - and our cars! When you say "it doesn't seem to be an issue with the battery", is that because you have lights? Batteries have two measurements that are important - reference voltage, which means how many volts are available to run components like lights and door locks. Then there is the actual power behind the voltage - amperage. Amperage is the amount of "oomph" the battery has to power things that need a lot of energy -- such as your starter motor. All that to say: you may have lights, but your battery may still not have enough power to crank over the engine. Have your battery tested first. If it passes - then the rest of the starting and charing system must be checked. Seek guidance at a shop near you: https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
