SE-R won't shift into another gear

moved the car to mow the lawn - car isn't my daily driver so I don't drive it super often shifted into reverse with a clunk, which is known to me I just hadn't had a chance to take it anywhere. after then shifting it into drive then park shortly after, the car will no longer get into gear. shifter works as does the dash indicator but the car doesn't move. it revs and the rpms go up
