What is your question?
5 weeks ago car loss power and when i shut it off the car would not restart, battery seemed dead. repair garage jumped started the car and the alternator was putting out 14 volts so he replaced the battery. Car ran fine. Probably put another 1,000-1500 miles on. Yesterday the same thing happened. Drove for 120 miles, stopped at a toll booth and as we were pulling away car had no power, would only do 10-15 mph, brought car to stop, set emergency flasher, no power to put shifter into park, eventually even the flashers would not work. AAA came out to tow the truck in 30 minutes, car started right up. brought to repair place and car started right up and ran fine. Please help

The problem seems to be temp related. If it was battery or alternator, it would go dead and stay that way. My suspicion relates to the fusible link box near the battery. It looks like the under hood fuse box but much smaller and mounted near the battery. From the bat's + terminal, there are 2 cables, the larger to the starter, the smaller to the link box. Open the lid and check the terminal connections for corrosion and tightness. It is a good idea to disconnect the - post from the battery to avoid shorting. If all looks good, check each link and fuse for poor contact. The fuses, especially the 100 and 120 amp ones are known to vibrate loose. The reasoning behind my diagnosis is that power thru a connection tends to heat the joint, add heat from the engine compartment and the connection expands enough to break contact, causing loss of circuits. Let the contact point cool, it contracts enough to re-establish the circuits.
thanks for your help. upon closer inspection they found a corroded negative battery cable where it connects to the frame. It would apparently get moved to a position where it wasn't making 100% contact and the car would die out. when it first happened and they changed the battery. In moving the cable it made a better connection and the car started and ran fine until it got bumped again,1,000 and 4-5 weeks later. They found it very quickly and treated me very fairly.
