Check the automatic transmission fluid level luckily your car still has a convention dipstick and is checked with the engine running. Nissan call for Nissan Matic D type fluid in this transmission. It may be worth while to have the transmission oil pan removed the filter replaced and the transmission fluid inspected for debris and transmission refilled with fresh fluid if this has not been done recently. Nissan did issue a bulletin in May 2004 04-035 which they out line an inspection ,fluid replacement and filter and if problems persist they recommend replacing the valve body as opposed to the whole transmission. Call around some transmission shops in your area and see if any one has first hand knowledge of a problem with this transmission.
