everything about the seat works except the forward and backward motion. The motor makes no sound when the switch is engaged. The switch is functioning correctly.

Not difficult. Remove the nuts or bolts retaining the seat bracket and then you can access the system for testing. If the motor gets power and ground, and doesn't work, it's defective. If it doesn't get power or ground, there's a wiring problem, you say the switch is OK, I guess you tested it with a meter or testlight.
Driver's seat raises and lowers, back goes forward and back, seat does not move. It looks like the seat has to be removed in order to access the motors and wiring. There are 3 bolts that are easy to remove, and the 4th, attached to the hump over the driveshaft, does not seem to have an accessible bolt. Is there a picture or a description of how I can remove this final bolt? I think your answer is correct, but if the seat can't be removed I don't see how to deal with the problem. Can you help with the driver's seat right rear bolt?
