Why is my AC Compressor on my 1998 Nissan Altima stop coming on after it warms up a few minutes and then comes back on every 10 minutes or so when it is turned up all the way?

What makes my 1998 Nissan Altima Ac clutch turn off after 10 minutes or so and then comes back on after it cools down within 10 minutes or so even with the Ac turned to its coolest settings and blower all the way up and full of refrigerant?
