What is your question?
Brake light, air bag light, other lights are all lit up like there's an electrical problem but oil light and temperature gauge have ceased to show any readings. I had a diagnostic run yesterday and the mechanic said alternator, battery, everything mechanical is working just fine. The car is also driving well. The mechanic suggested it's the onboard computer but he didn't have anyway to test that. He suggested I take it to an authorized dealer to have the computer checked out, and said, the dealership will give me soaking in terms of price for this service. He himself refused to take any money and I've know him years, to be honest and competent. Can you give me an idea of what's wrong and what a fair price is to reset/repair/replace the car's computer? NB: when mechanic saw the car temperature gauge was normal temperature. for a car that had just been driven.Ondrive home the temperature gauge never lit up. I drove in almost 100 degree heat for an hour & gauge showed no heat.

Gauges should reflect data provided to them. If test equipment shows data that is not reflected on the gauges, then there is likely an issue with the gauges themselves. If this is termed an "on board computer" - then yes, that would be a focus of concern. I'm seeing the instrument cluster consisting of a printed circuit and individual gauges though.
