Will not shift into reverse. It does drive but only stays in first when I have it in drive. Once I get to 30 mph it makes a sound. (Kind of like a rattling catalytic converter) any ideas?

Hello Justin, I'm assuming automatic transmission. Are you saying that the gear selector physically moves to N, or that the vehicle is in gear, but the engine can rev without making the car accelerate? Also, can you not physically move the selector to reverse?
