What is your question?
I have a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, 4 cylinder, cvt. A couple months ago it would hesitate when trying to start. We assumed because of age and cold weather. Battery was tested and was fine. Starts better now with warmer weather but still slight hesitation. Recently I’ve also been feeling a sort of small jerk/hesitation when accelerating after a stop, almost imperceptible but I know how my car drives so I notice it. In the last few weeks there have been a few instances where it was a much more noticeable jerk/hesitation when accelerating after a stop. Doesn’t happen all the time so it’s hard to show a mechanic, but when it does happen it’s very obvious.
How long has your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander had this problem?
The starting hesitation since December. The jerk/hesitation when accelerating after a stop maybe a month.

I am hearing two things that may or may not be related. 1) The vehicle "hesitates" when trying to start. 2) The vehicle has a small jerk / hesitation on accelerating from a stop. I'm guessing your meaning of the hesitation when trying to start - that is, that the engine cranks and cranks but takes a bit to to catch and start -- perhaps running a bit rough at first before running properly. If this is the case, it sounds like an engine performance issue -- something with fuel delivery, ignition spark, air intake, emission controls, engine timing or compression. The hesitation on acceleration may or may not be related. You could also have a transmission engagement concern. But I would work with the first problem first, as you may find they are related, and one repair may fix both concerns.
