if you had someone else install your stereo then have them diagnose it for free, if you installed it yourself then re-check all of the connectors that go into your instrument cluster. tap the cluster while driving to see if you can get any readings, if so then a wire is likely pinched behind the unit. if not then your original stereo might share a wire with your cluster.

These types of problems can be difficult to diagnose, but I would start by looking at all the wires that were installed during the stereo installation. I would guess that a wire was tapped into that is causing this problem, or a connector was left disconnected.
