My Top glove compartment is stuck. How do open it?

What is your question?

I have two glove compartments on my `06 mitsubishi montero. The one on top is stuck. I can't open it. I have a passenger air bag above it. How can I open the glove compartment without setting off the air bag above it? I have my DMV registration in it. If I get pulled over i`m in BIG trouble.
