What is your question?
My Montero brakes are not working properly. As speed reduces during braking the ABS starts kicking on and off as if on a slippery surface. Anti skid warning lights also come on. Also sporadically runs very rough at around 65 mph. I took it to my normal mechanic. They hooked it up to analysis which showed a code 26 but then could not figure out what code 26 meant. Went to Mitsubishi dealer. They had it for multiple days finally telling me the "ABS brake booster" needed to be replaced at a part price tag of $1900. I found a rebuilt one on ebay for less. The Mitsubishi dealer installed it only to have the same exact symptoms happening. They say the rebuilt booster is faulty. Talked with man who sold rebuilt booster and explained symptoms. He says it's a computer problem that has absolutely nothing to do with booster. He seemed very knowledgeable and I believe him. I think the Mitsubishi dealer was unable to diagnose properly and took a guess that cost me substantial money. Can you help me

Nothing

My advice is to trust the dealership. They have factory knowledge, service their own vehicles nearly exclusively, and the guy that sold you the part just wants to avoid the return. You had it professionally installed, an ASE technician/factory certified technician told you it was a bad part. Get that in writing, force the return, get your money back for the bad part you were sold, and steer clear of eBay parts sellers.
