starter for this montero made the first 30 days of production

I have a 97 montero vin#JA4MR31H7VJ007925 that has a starter I cannot locate. The vehicle was manufactured the first 30 days of production.I have been told that the vehicle production was changed & different parts were used. I cannot locate the original starter & the wiring harness connection is different from part#MD148008. Can I get help locating a starter or is there a way to rewire the connector on the starter I can locate? I was told the original starter I am looking for goes for approx. $700.
