Changed O2 sensor 1-2 and the obd still says the same sensor is bad

We diagnosed the vehicle and obd says O2 1-2 heated sensor. We changed and the same code still appears. What must I do to get this check engine clear. Please help before throwing away a whole lot of money before hitting the nail. Thank you
