My key light stays on my dashboard and my car wont start

Hello, The key light is telling you that the key is either not detected, or the key is not recognized. This could be the failure of the key, key battery, or an issue in the anti-theft/wireless control system. Look in the owners manual first. There is likely a procedure for starting the vehicle when the key is not recognized or the battery is dead. Most time, pressing the key into the start/stop button instead of using your finger. Sounds funny, but this will allow direct communication between the key and vehicle. If that does not work, try the spare key. If the spare key does not work, contact the dealer for warranty service. If the spare key works, replace the battery in the first key and look for a video of the relearn procedure for the key just in case.
