transmission problems.

I had it towd to a transmission shop and he told me that something was broken in the gear box a rebuilt transmission for your car about $1900.00 just by looking at it it is not worth it put your money as a down payment on another car and the clutch was starting to slip.I bought the car as a strip paid cash am looking at the toyota yaris or the nissian versa seaden strip about $10,000.Thanks for your input.
