See your Mitsubishi dealership for what is likely an in-warranty repair.
It's either an internal electrical issue, a software issue or a power supply issue.
This would be MUCH more likely if there is a ‘mute button’ on the steering wheel ..
You did not elaborate as to whether the stereo SOUND is what’s “shuts off” or the actual stereo itself ..... This actually occurs quite often when vehicles are equipped with steering wheel mounted controls.
