How to troubleshoot my stereo automatically shuts off and on

This would be MUCH more likely if there is a ‘mute button’ on the steering wheel .. You did not elaborate as to whether the stereo SOUND is what’s “shuts off” or the actual stereo itself ..... This actually occurs quite often when vehicles are equipped with steering wheel mounted controls. Good luck!
