What is your question?
Indeed, after feeling the relay close, and listening at the filler, I can hear the pump running, but none in the high pressure line at the injectors. So next, try & check return line at injector area, then crawling under and checking hoses & connections, which fortunately are on the sides of the tank. Any suggestions are more than welcome, indeed, hoped for. Thanks, Tom

check the vacuum line on the regulator for splits, cracks.also pull the hose off the regulator, any signs of fuel in the vacuum hose?if so,fuel pressure regulator is bad.
OK - I sure will - first thing tomorrow... Thanks so much for replying - this thing's been driving me nuts. I'll let you know. thanks, Tom PS - looks like the intake plenum comes off first to replace the regulator - right? I sure hope I find splits or cracks where hose to tank attaches......and that does it... But - Thanks again...
Oh!believe me i know.hope you find the problem.post findings.and your welcome.
Again - certainly appreciate your responses... And indeed, does the plenum have to come off first? And which one is the vacuum line - OK, I think I see, in the good old Haynes manual, on the "upstream" side of the regulator....so no doubt, plenum off.... OK - mid afternoon... Today, checked vacuum tube to regulator - very solid, no gas... gas in return line as supposed to be. Next day - I'll be damned - Went to pay the big bucks for computerized scan, and the guy asked about fuel filter - Never gave it a thought.. Maybe modern cars, the ECU makes up for it, and hides the symptoms I used to recognize in the old days... So - haven't put in yet, but maybe all this trouble for a lousy $6.00 filter... makes sense - maybe never replace since new..... arghhhh tried to start, and the damn thing fired right up - hadn't tried it recently... I didn't do a thing to change it... so, dammit, still don't know the problem... could still be the regulator, or any of the sensors - since all that goes through the ECU and tells the pump to run...Since it's pre-96, can't get a free computer check - different plug in spot - maybe I'll bite the bullit and pay a garage $50 to use their old adapter and get the fault readout. I tried the analog volt meter method, and nothing... So - crap.....any comments? But, thanks again, Tom PS - with the help of a long, thin screw driver, got the vacuum tube off the regulator without removing the plenum - a big relief...
