This is common when an aftermarket stereo is installed on this generation Mitsubishi. Do you have an aftermarket radio? If so there is likely a 4 pin connector that is not being used anymore. This will show a communication error. If you don't have an aftermarket radio it could be an issue with the car's factory amplifier.
