Want to change transmission fluid but don't know how many quarts to buy.

Hello, After you've replaced the trans filter and pan gasket, pour 3 Qts ATF into the fill tube and start the car. With your foot on the brake, move you gear selector from park to low and pack to park again. Leave the car running in park and check the trans fluid level. Normally after a service your transmission should take about 4 Qts, but it's easier to add more than take some out if you overfill it. Top it off to the bottom of the fill mark. As your transmission temp rises, your ATF will expand and your fluid level will rise. At that point it will be at the top of the fill line. Perfect!
