The temp. gauge goes up and down a little.

I just had the thermostrat replaced, then the engine too because it got to a point where it was letting water into the engine, i dont know why the gauge goes from being in its right place to up a little and then back down, then up again.

possibly an air pocket in the engine coolant, the temp sensor cannot read air temp try bleeding the air out
