While stopped in gear for a turn the engine began to run rough. Upon service the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coils were replaced. The fuel injectors cleaned. Air filter replaced. Air intake cleaned. Still the engine idles rough but does not stall. Drives fine otherwise. Do you think it's the computer or a sensor or a bad fuel injector?Feels like its running on three cylindars not four.

Did the car idle rough prior to repairs? I wonder if the engine has a vacuum leak either from a vacuum hose or intake manifold gasket. Your car has on board diagnostic capabilities. There is 16 pin diagnostic socket under the dash. A scan tool is plugged into the connector to retrieve trouble codes, pending trouble codes and live data from sensors on the engine. It would be cheaper at this stage to get the car properly diagnosed at this point and would not justify the cost for you to by a decent lap top based scan tool. Has the check engine/Service Engine Soon light come on, if so it needs a scan tool to verify the fault.
i have a 99 galant 2.4l 4 cyl. i turned it on this morning and it started to idle high. the service engine light came on and i took it to autozone and advanced auto to scan but they couldnt retrieve any codes nothing was showing up. i did realize i have an ignition coil which should be replaced because i had to reassemble it . any help would be greatly appreciated
