There is smoke and rotten egg smell coming from my battery. I just replaced the battery 3 months ago. The smell started 3 days ago and its overwhelming. When I opened the hood the battery was overheated

Yes it sounds like an overcharging problem.Dont trust the battery after this either.
check the altenator for a overcharge cond. check water level in battery as it may have boiled some out.
Thank you..If the alternator is overcharging that means I need a new one
