What is your question?
my alternator has been overcharging, causing my battery to be overcharged. Now my battery is dead so I'm not able to take the car to the shop. Can I get a jump or do I have to buy another battery?

If your battery state of charge is above 13 volts then it is cooked provided there is no surface charge.Replace the battery then get the alternator or cicuit fixed asap.
did you buy the alternator are was it already in the car b/c sometimes if someone was running a sound system they could have gotten it amped it it should be 70-95 amps .. that might be why its killing your battery ..
how will i know if the state charge of the battery is above 13 volts? Also what is a cicuit ? Thank you
You would need a voltage meter to test it.If it was smoking you can count on it being bad,I would suggest putting a new one in since they cannot be brought back to life once the damage is done. The circuit is what I ment(just a type-o) meaning it may not be just an alternator issue.
Thanks....I see you are a mechanic...how much would you charge to put in an alternator?
About $320.00 installed also recommend a Battery charging system test $42.40 for this.
