Hello my name is Thomas, i have a 2008 eclipse coupe, 5 speed. recently my "service engine soon" light just turn's on and off at will. i'll start off with my purchase date which was july of 2010 " last year at the time the car only had 10,500 miles on it, through out the year i added several upgrades giving a few months in between each upgrade, first i started off adding my existing system from my previous car into it with a battery capicitor so the amp's don't drain the battery and reduces stress on the alternator, all was well. so about 2 or 3 months later i added a "performance chip" to the MAF sensor again all was well it had actually worked so well with fuel economy and acceleration that i bought 2 more for my other 2 vehicles. well recently about 3 months ago i added a weapon-r intake tube and removed the stock filter system and this is where my problem took place. I was clockin the mileage i was getting so i let the tank run rather low "till the fuel light lit up" all in all i got 298 miles off of 12 to 12 1/2 gallons of gas runnin 89 octane. well soon as i pulled out of the gas station and shifted from 2nd to 3rd the service light came on and had been going on and off at random since. i'm a very handy person and i've been restoring car's since i was 7 or 8 yrs old and also took auto mechanics classes when i was high school so i'm not to stupid when it comes to car's. ok back to my topic "sorry" since the light has been commin on and off i've tried cleaning the gas cap and tightening it as much as possible rather 3 clicks to about 8 or so, no luck, since i ran the gas so low i figured maybe the injector sucked something up so i tried some gumout fuel additive and since i was at auto zone i took full advantage of the free diagnostics test and the code read P0175 and gives the definition. 1. system to rich cylinders 2-3 probable cause. 2. ignition system faulty. 3. fuel system faulty - injectors or pressure. 4. vacuume leak. 5. engine mechanical condition. unfortunately i can do anything about cylinders 2-3 being to rich. i tried the gumout for the injectors/fuel system. i checked and rechecked all the new fittings for the intake and made them so tight i had to replace 2 of them already due to excessive force and snapping them. HELP Please cause i'm at a loss! i would just take it to the dealer since the car is under warranty but i don't want the hassel i took it there 1 time for a LED tail light and they gave a me a whole line of B.S. that it's not covered under the 5 year warranty. needless to say i drove my car over 140 miles that day to repair that problem myself. i also get that eggy smell if i rev it over 3500 RPM throug out the gears but anytin under 3000 their s no smell at all. also sometimes taking off in first gear i get a laggy/poor acceleration from time to time, 2nd through 5th is smooth.
