Hello, The short answer is no, but I'll give you some info that will help you. The check engine light comes on as a result of the on-board diagnostics -II protocol that the engine control module in your wife's eclipse uses. This control module uses sensors all over the vehicle to control and monitor different systems, and when the control module notices that something is not right when compared to the manufacturers specifications, it turns on the check engine light. The on-board diagnostic protocol is helpful, in that it provides you a code (or codes) to identify what it noticed. The codes can be read with a code reader, and most parts stores will do this for free, but beware. The codes do not say the problem or what to replace, they just say what they noticed was different. To the layman, this is good information, but to a technician, these are clues.
