What is your question?
Just received 2 vague diagnostics from untested mechanics. (Ours retired) 1st: "Clutch is bad." 2nd: "Transmission is making the noise & must be replaced, but the clutch may be bad also." The flopping noise; similar to a loose CVC boot sound, stops when the clutch is engage. The car drives fine IE: transmission shifts cleanly, no grinding or clunking in any gear & the clutch engages normally. I've heard it could be as simple as a lose pressure plate. Has anyone delt with this?

If the clutch is noisy when you press on the pedal to disengage it, it could be several things, like a worn throw out bearing, a worn pilot bearing, a defective pressure plate, defective clutch disk etc. When you push down on the clutch pedal the input shaft of the transaxle STOPS rotating, so I doubt it is a transaxle problem.
mine makes that same noise, i have the 2006 gs eclipse manual 5 speed, the noise stop when i press the clutch, can i just put in new clutch kit
