Mine does the same thing. I believe it has something to do with the throw out bearing. Ive been doing alot of research & its can either be that or the clutch disks.
Well its the lifter I believe.I added some lucas oil stabilizer and it stopped leaks and also ebgine runs smoother.The sound disappeared.Sometimes when its very cold it would make the noise for about 20 seconds and go away.Its common in most eclipse cars!
