Car struggles to start, rough idle and has died while idling

Hard starting and rough idle can be caused by a fuel delivery issue, air intake issue, ignition spark issue or any combination of these areas. You could also have a base engine issue, such as with compression or engine timing. Hands on inspection and diagnostic testing utilizing proper test equipment and reference materials like shop manuals and electronic wiring diagrams will be needed. The most simple visual thing you can do is inspect that your air box is intact and sealed, the air intake hose is intact and not detached or leaking, and that all vacuum hoses on the engine are connected properly and not leaking. This would address the air intake section and can be at least initially be checked visually.
