I have a clicking noise and a mechanic said i need to replace a part on the clutch which would require to drop the trans to repair. Do you know what the problem is and what would be the cost?
What is your question?
the mechanic said in order to fix the problem he would have to drop the trans and replace the part related to the clutch and he didnt want to do the work. How much would this cost and what is the part he is talking about?
You'll need to ask your mechanic to clarify. There's no way to know what he means from where I sit!
You could have a flywheel issue, a pressure plate issue, a pilot bearing issue, a throwout bearing issue, or the clutch disc itself could have an issue with a spring. No idea -- have someone who is willing to do this work check it and advise and quote a cost.
