I have a clicking noise and a mechanic said i need to replace a part on the clutch which would require to drop the trans to repair. Do you know what the problem is and what would be the cost?

You'll need to ask your mechanic to clarify. There's no way to know what he means from where I sit! You could have a flywheel issue, a pressure plate issue, a pilot bearing issue, a throwout bearing issue, or the clutch disc itself could have an issue with a spring.
