gas gauge goes to E after I fill up

The service Engine Light Soon will come on if it sees a problem with the fuel tank sender unit as the sender unit input is required for the car's computer to evaluate the operation of the emission evaporative control system. The fuel tank sender unit is most likely defective. There is one service bulletin from Mitsubishi regarding the fuel gauge but it regards the low fuel warning light.
