starts good but tries to die when you go to take off

Hello, I would look for vacuum leaks. Have the engine warm to normal temperature, get a spray bottle with water in it, and spray a fine mist around different sections of the engine. If you find that spraying a mist of water onto one particular place on the engine causes the engine to sound and run differently, you have a vacuum leak there. You could also have it smoke tested.
