To describe the sounds it's kind of a sputtering rumbling sound and lacks power and acceleration like it's running on 3 cylinders but as soon as you get off the gas or downshift it sounds fine

It sounds like your engine is missing. To guess just by the description would be hard but could be spark, timing, fuel or plugged exhaust. Your best bet would be to go to a local shop that can properly diag. the problem.
