Why is my car dying when I put it into drive

What is your question?

I got the car today and i have to jump it off because of a dead battery but it's fine except when it's in drive the car shuts off after moving it a little bit it does need lifters and rocker arms on the back side of the motor the front ones are fine but I really want to know why it shuts off in drive
