What is your question?
Im wondering if I need to be doing any service maintenance on my 08 Cooper S turbo. Has 45,000 on it and seems to run fine. Have the oil changed every 3,000 mi. No problems but I don't want any if I can avoid it.

Hello! Oil changes are your best friend on this car. They are extremely sensitive to oil level and quality, so you're already ahead of the game. Be sure the level stays where it needs to be, and, even more importantly, be sure to give the car a work out every now and then. These engines are direct injection and are known to form heavy carbon deposits on the valves if you don't use Top Tier fuel (Chevron, Shell, 76) and give the engine a good workout every now and then, like when merging on the freeway (within legal reason, of course!). Get it nice and hot to burn off the deposits. Otherwise you will end up having to do a carbon cleaning service , which is expensive no matter where you have it done due to the labor. You'll know this is coming if cold starts get harder, and experience the engine running a bit rough until it warms up. When it gets really bad, the check engine light will come on. Beyond that, just stick to the CBS (condition based service) provided by the car, and you should many miles ahead of you.
