Electrical Problem?

I have a 2004 Mini Cooper and recently have been having, i believe, an electrical problem with the driver's side door. The window first stopped going up and down and now the lock on that side will not unlock from the toggle switch or the key pad. The only way to unlock it is to open the car from the interior handle. And to lock it you need to use the key or push it down.
