The Light on A/C power button does not come on and nor does the ac compressor kick on. Would the faulty button be the problem or could it be the compressor itself be the issue?

Hello! It could be either. There could be an issue with power before the switch circuit or after, or something with the compressor itself. You'll want to have a shop diagnose it.
