how do i remove the key tumbler from the ignition?

the key will not crank at all. it turned on the accessories but wouldnt crank. turned the key back to the off position and took out the key yet the accessories were still on. im trying to remove the tumbler having trouble getting it out. i found 2 pins but dont know how to get them out to release tumbler. i dont want to have to remove the steering wheel to get the whole ignition out. any help? thanks
