What is your question?
When I start my car, it idles between 2000-3000rpm. This happened a couple of times before, but then went back to normal for about 2-3 weeks and now is doing it again. What is causing this?

This is typically caused by a sticking idle air control motor. You may also have a check engine light on, that will have a code for a defect in the idle air control motor or IAC. Have a good shop check for this type of code. here are some shops: https://repairpal.com/mercury-repair-in-abilene-texas
CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, MAKE SURE IT HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN OFF AND PUT BACK ON WRONG. HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL DESCRIBES STEP BY STEP HOW TO INSTALL. TURN SENSOR STRAIGHT UP THEN ROTATE CLOCKWISE UNTIL IN MOUNTING POSITION, TIGHTEN SCREWS. IF NOT MOUNTED PROPERLY CAN CAUSE HIGH IDLE, DROVE ME CRAZY FOR 3 YEARS UNTIL FOUND PROBLEM.
