Where can I find the proper diagnostic tool for my 1992 topaz

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. This vehicle employees, OBD-I -- which generally speaking does not have a diagnostic tool that works with it. Usually, you are plugging into the jumper harness under the hood to get the check engine light to flash codes. These codes will typically be in sequence of three digits, with 111 being pass. The sequence is "KOEO" (Key On, Engine Off), then "KOEC" (Key on, Engine Continuous -- which means memory codes), then if you follow a running sequence of testing - "KOER" (Key On, Engine Running). Compared to OBD-II which started in 1996, this is a very primitive testing routine and computer strategy. Do you have a warning light illuminated now?
