What does it mean, wrench indicator is showing & cruise control went out, why

The "wrench " indicator means there is a diagnostic Trouble Code in memory, and since your cruise control also has failed, the most likely solution would involve replacement of the " clockspring assembly", but before you replace anything, a complete diagnosis should be done.
