Hello, you didn't indicate which engine your Sable has. Also, thick smoke from then tailpipe is not related to a PCV valve issue. Idle concern may or may not be, probably unlikely. Engine performance testing is needed, as well as checking for the cause of the heavy smoke at start up. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
