2000 Mercury Sable with 72,000 miles won’t go into gear

What is your question?

Shifter moves fine and all was working fine until one day doing 35 miles an hour the transmission disengaged and that was it no more gears, park still works, car still runs AC and everything but no gears. No leaks

What makes this problem better or worse?
