driving down the road stopped at stop sign car was sputtering and losing power made it 3 blocks to home and turned the car off. Now it will not start any idea on whats wrong?

There are 2 common things that every vehicle needs to run - fuel and spark. Check for fuel pressure and good spark.
Hey, thats how my car did about 6 months before the transmission had to be repaired etc see my question 2005 mercury sable. Had I known that it was computer, transmission I would have had it fixed before I replaced starter, battery, etc. Check that transmission!
