car started sputtering and losing power now wont start?!! Whats wrong?

Hey, thats how my car did about 6 months before the transmission had to be repaired etc see my question 2005 mercury sable. Had I known that it was computer, transmission I would have had it fixed before I replaced starter, battery, etc. Check that transmission!
