What is your question?
My passenger doors on either side won't open and I believe it has to do with the child safety locks. When you lift the handle, it lifts quickly with no resistance and will not open from the inside or outside. Short of taking the doors off, is there any way I can determine why the doors won't open and if it is indeed a problem with the child safety locks? Using the master control on the driver's side to disengage the child safety locks does not work. My father managed to get one door open and then proceeded to put the child safety lock in the up position, I believe this has frozen it.

It may be the door latches or locking solenoids are stuck, the child prevention will only disable the inside door handle and not the outside handle.
I had this problem and resolved it yesterday. I don't know if it will help you but in my case, the rt rear drivers side was locked when the door was open!!! no matter how much you pressed unlock, the mechanism stayed in locked position on an open door. I sprayed the mechanism with a silicone lubricant and used a flathead screw driver to separate the two teeth from each other. NOthing seemed to work until I turned the drivers lock/unlock button several times on and off and then pulled up the handle. Lo and behold, pulling up the handl e then of the stuck door, automaticaally reset the lock to open. Be aware, if you don't use some type of silicone spray lubricant or DW40, your other locks in a 16 yr old car will eventually corrode or rust. Yesterday, I sprayed all door hinges and locking mechanism that open and close all doors. Hope it helpd. Once your Dad got door open, below the grabbing mechanism is the black toggle switch that sets child safety lock or releases it. Pull that up and down several time, then open close lock button on drivers door arm, then from then after spraying lock, simply lift the handle to the stuck door. It should automatically release. Mine did. Good luck! I know you totaled the car but, this answer may help someone else with this problem, in future, following the thread.
Thanks for the reply but useless now that the car was involved in an accident that totaled the car. Thanks for the response though. :)
