If you just attach sensors will a car still run
1 Reply
Depends on which sensors you're talking about. If it's the wheel speed sensors (like for the ABS) the car will run but the ABS system won't be able to do its job. If we're talking about any engine sensors, the engine MIGHT still run, but it will likely run poorly or throw a check engine light.
It is the transmission speed sensors. There's three of them if I unplug them will the car still be able to drive? Until I can afford to replace them? Because the car is Shifting so hard that it already broke the motor mounts and water pump and hoses. Thank you so much for all your answers.
Why would you unplug them?
So it'll stop shifting so hard. And break something else. Until I can afford to replace them.
The car should still run without it. BUT, it may not help the issue. Without input from the speed sensor, the transmission will shift more consistently, but it might shift consistently rough, or slip, etc.
